A future-focused church is one with a clear, commonly understood vision for their future. Has your church set and communicated a vision for where it will be 10 years from now? Fifteen years from now? And how is your church strategically preparing for that future today? As you reflect on this within your own church, the Thriving Church Institute in Barna Access Plus can assist you and your team in determining how you can re-prioritize the future of your church around the next generation of leaders, building them up and giving them opportunities to serve in the ways God has called them to. Rejection often leaves us doubtful and sends us into performance mode. Sharon expresses the struggle and pressure of believing, “I have to be better in order to be seen as equal.” As pastors, we have to remember these thoughts are not from the Lord, but from the accuser. When rejection creeps in, Sharon reminds herself of this powerful truth: No one ever performed better than Jesus. And He was still rejected. What if rejection isn’t a reflection of your worth, but a reminder of who you belong to? #resilientpastor #podcast #podcastclip #rejection #redirection #pastor #churchleader

#MentalHealthMonday Barna has found that Gen Z Christians want to engage with the world, not retreat from it. Justice-oriented teens have a stronger sense of satisfaction in life and hope for the future. There is an opportunity for churches and ministries to develop confidence and commitment in Gen Z to engage in areas that matter to them. Not everyone in your life is assigned to you- some are simply attached because of the benefits they are receiving. As pastors and leaders, we often take it personally when someone begins to detach, assuming the relationship was meant to last a lifetime. But here’s the truth: 👉 Assigned people are in your life to contribute. 👉 Attached people are there only while they’re receiving something. The worst mistake we can make is giving assignment energy to an attached person. What if your greatest breakthrough is on the other side of blessing and releasing? #resilientpastor #podcast #podcastclip #christian #churchcommunity

What creates meaning and fulfillment at work? Barna partnered with VOCA Center to research today’s experiences of the workplace and provide actionable insights for leaders. The strongest source of workplace meaning falls under the category of people, community and relationships. This finding underscores a fundamental truth: work is inherently social, and meaningful human connection is crucial for workplace satisfaction. This second source of joy is the work itself, achievement and purpose; followed by helping others and making a difference. In Barna’s research of thriving churches, the future-focused dimension assesses a church’s clarity of vision and the priority they place on the next generation. According to our latest data, just 43 percent of churches in the U.S. rank high (receiving either a 9 or 10 from surveyed churched leaders) in the future-focused dimension. Our latest release in the Thriving Church Institute, Future-Focused, offers a three session mini-course that can help jumpstart your church's future-focused dimension. #MentalHealthMonday Gen Z teens have ambition, collectively and individually. The hope is that this commitment will grow, but so far optimism seems to dwindle among Gen Z in young adulthood. This could be caused by high levels of stress, pressure and anxiety. Barna’s findings show an opportunity to root young people in mentoring community, a relationship with Jesus and a call to service through the often disillusioning launch into adulthood.
